Hi I am new to the whole game. I am trying to get started but don't know the best thing to do. Is it better to get a custom site or a turnkey? Is it better to produce your own content or get free content or pay to use someone elses content? Does anyone know anyone who can actually make the site or show me how. I would like to be involved as much as possible and really make some money. I have time but not the knowledge. I am very appreciative to anyone who could help with some info or a site to direct me to that would help. Also pimp.biz is that just a site that I would incorporate their banners to my site or do they have content too? Thanxs to anyone who could help, in need of info.

Hi r5momma, you can go to PimpRoll (http://www.pimproll.com/ref=pimp1419/index.html) and fill in the join form and then promote any of our paysites with an affiliate code that we provide to you.

Most people begin by building what are called "free sites", which is basically a few advertising pages with some sample images to entice the surfer to click your ads, join the site, which in turn makes you money for referring the sale.

A good resource for new webmasters is http://www.tomsnewbiebooster.com

Ok but what if I want my own site not just referring people to other big money sites? i want to have my own content and my own profit and still have banners with affiliations? Also what about turnkey?
With the free site you don't actually have a site of your own right? it is just a page that you can click on a banner to get to someone elses site right?

Turnkey sites are nothing but scams. You'll get paid MUCH more per sale promoting PimpRoll or any other sponsor than with turnkey. Also starting your own site like the ones PimProll has will cost you tens of thousands of $$$$ if not much much more. Not to mention you have ot get some kind of billing processing of your own. How's your credit?

Why go through all that when you can promote PimpRoll and not have to go through all that stuff? And yes a "free site" is just as much your site as any other site. It's more your site than a turnkey site is.

Oh ok, I misunderstood. You are basically looking to start a paysite, and I have really no experience in that area. Maybe theres something here to read over: http://www.paysiteowners.com/

Generally it's considered a "newbie mistake" to jump into the business with no knowledge and try to start a paysite, but again I've never tried.

Hey r5momma,,,

You should not just get in to it and make a paysite...

You have no idea how many newbies with time and money get stuck with some turnkey pay site, or tgp they payed to much for and then come to the boards asking why they have no traffic or signups.

My advice to you would be make free sites, and submit galleries for a few months to get a little bit of an understanding of how the flow of traffic works, and then decide if you still want a pay site.

Absolutely! People brand new to the business simply should NOT start out with a paysite. It's a very common newbie mistake though, and I've seen it happen hundreds of times.

PR_Tom gave some very good advice in his first post imo.. check out tomsnewbiebooster.com .. Learn the ins and outs of the business and develope your traffic generation and marketing skills before jumping off the deep end into a costly paysite.

Best of luck to you! :)
