partnership programe??

if i choose the partnership program with pimproll im left with 9 signup options so am i correct to assume that i need someone to signup under that exact option i chose in order to get credited for the sale?
if this is the case than if i make a sale i have only a 1 in 9 chance of getting credited for it. this seems totally insane to me but maybe im wrong, if so, someone please correct me.
