What do you do with sites that hotlink your images? I have 2 sites that are linking to images on my server with iframes.
This leads me to a few questions. For starters, do hotlinked images work as backlinks? If they do, are they worth the bandwidth? IS there a good way to ban this without turning on hot-link protection? I don't really wanna do that cause I may wanna hot-link to a couple of the images - myself, one day .. So, What do you do? |

There are different options with htaccess to protect your images.
You can do hotlinking protection with some exceptions for yourself. |

One way of dealing with that is to make a new image (same size) and write on it something like " THIEF AT WORK" or at least something of that sort.
The exact words will be your chooise of course, I mean you can even be very very rude on it. But be sure to name the new images the same as the ones being hotlinked, the only thing to do then is make sure that the original images still work on your site possibly by putting them in a new folder and adjusting your html. Thats atleast one way of dealing with it. GMax
